Steps 1–2: Industrial Keyword & Buyer Research

Large catalogues run into technical trouble that small sites never see, and if nobody fixes it, that trouble caps everything above it. Crawlability matters most: a big catalogue burns through crawl activity fast, so keep the architecture shallow, fix broken internal links and redirect chains, and confirm the important product pages are actually reachable. Faceted navigation (filters for material, size and grade) can spawn thousands of near-duplicate URLs. Canonicalise or noindex the thin combinations instead of letting them compete against each other. Duplicate spec pages that differ by a single dimension need consolidating, or at least clear differentiation.
